If I don't need to have automated periodic backups nor system images backups or even manual custom full backups(as I've seen is possible with Dashboard) at all done to my files (I know, what would be the point of buying this specific drive in the first place, but regardless of that), can I use this solely as an external drive to transfer specific folders of interest from one computer to another and to store certain folders in it temporarily, without installing and using Seagate Dashboard? Dunno if maybe file transfer is faster when using the software.
